Be one step ahead of the rest

STAGE ONE
Attend a 2 week theory training programme to equip you with job ready skills identifying areas where you can get ahead at work, and increase your job prospects. You will undertake a range of courses and training, and you could gain a number of job specific skills such as;

  • Numeracy Certificate
  • Literacy Certificate
  • CV Writing
  • Interview Techniques
  • IT and Computer Training
  • Theory Training towards your Health and Social Care

STAGE TWO
Upon completion of Stage One, you will work through an on-line training course that explores the values that lie at the heart of all care work and the realities of working in care.

You will gain an understanding of your specific role and responsibilities, and why it is essential that you apply the policies and procedures of your organisation. You are also shown how to apply safe working practices to promote a safe, healthy environment for themselves and those you care for. Wherever possible the course will provide all the training you need to meet the induction standards. However, some information you need to know will be specific to your organisation and in this case you will be given an activity to complete which will help you find that information.

The course also includes the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, an essential qualification for anyone working with, preparing or handling food in their work.

On completion of the course you will receive a certificate which could be your passport to future success in the care sector.

The Health & Social Care Induction Standards certificate and training course will be free if you are in receipt of a means tested benefit, such as Job Seekers Allowance, Income Support, Pension Guarantee, Housing or Council Tax Benefits, Working Tax Credit, Disabled Persons Tax Credit, or you are an unwaged dependant of anyone in receipt of the above means tested benefits.
