CSCS Health and Safety Card
The CITB Construction Skills Health and Safety test is the industry satndard, taken by over 300,000 people every year. It is designed to ensure everybody working in construction has a minimum level of health and safety awareness.
The test is an essential part of qualifying for the major card schemes such as CSCS and affiliated schemes. Without the right card it's difficult to get on site.
STAGE ONE
Attend a 2 week theory training programme to equip you with job ready skills identifying areas where you can get ahead at work, and increase your job prospects. You will undertake a range of courses and training, and you could gain a number of job specific skills such as;
- Numeracy Certificate
- Literacy Certificate
- CV Writing
- Interview Techniques
- IT and Computer Training
- Theory Training towards your CSCS Card
STAGE TWO
Upon on completion of your theory training you will be issued with the CITB Construction Skills Health and Safety Test booklet covering the Core Test questions including Manual Handling, Working at Height, Electrical Safety and Safety Signs and Signals. Equipped with this you can continue your study towards the test and when you feel confident and ready to take your test, contact Critical Skills and we will book you for your test at your nearest test centre. The test is a 45 or 60 minute multiple choice test on health and safety in construction. It is a screen based test and there are either 40 or 50 questions to answer.
The course will be free if you are in receipt of a means tested benefit, such as Job Seekers Allowance, Income Support, Pension Guarantee, Housing or Council Tax Benefits, Working Tax Credit, Disabled Persons Tax Credit, or you are an unwaged dependant of anyone in receipt of the above means tested benefits.
